Luxury lodges
Introducing Salcombe Retreat, set atop the cliffs of Salcombe and boasting stunning ocean views.
Salcombe Retreat commands an exceptional position above the cliffs of Salcombe, the most southerly point in Devon and therefore an area that enjoys an almost Mediterranean climate – especially during the incredible summer we’ve had this year.
“the lodges are a tranquil retreat to which you can return after a day spent exploring this stunning area of Devon”
Salcombe Retreat stands out not only because of its enviable position in Salcombe and breathtaking views but for the style of lodges that it possesses. As you walk inside your cabin-like lodge, it’s as if you’ve entered into an elegant apartment; each lodge boasts luxurious interior design, fully-equipped kitchens and bathrooms, not to mention the floor-to-ceiling windows that flood them with light and really make the most of the panoramic rural and sea views. Sleeping up to six with three bedrooms, the lodges are a tranquil retreat to which you can return after a day spent exploring this stunning area of Devon and whether you’re looking for a family getaway, a couple’s retreat or a stay with friends, you’ll be able to enjoy your holiday in the utmost comfort and in a truly stunning location.
Situated right next to the South West Coast Path, you can wander along the cliff paths and spend your days discovering secret coves, swimming in secluded bays and gazing at the beautiful scenery and then return to your luxurious lodge, sink into the sumptuous sofa and read your book – or maybe even enjoy the last of the sun with a glass of wine on your own private terrace. Onsite, there are no main roads so kids can run around and explore without the worry of traffic and you’ll find a spacious field and play area equipped with football goals, as well as a dog exercise area so your canine companions can race around and tire themselves out too. Another addition that sets Salcombe Retreat apart is the onsite shop stocked full of local produce – the site is surrounded by farms and freeholds meaning that the shop is able to source its produce from within a 20-mile radius. With freshly baked loaves from a bakery nearby, homemade jams and chutneys, Salcombe Gin, and glass bottles of milk and cheese from a dairy farm, it doesn’t get much fresher than that!
Located above Soar Mill cove, this secluded bay is a 15-minute walk away and is only accessible by walking or by boat, meaning you can enjoy the bay without fronds of people crowding the shores. And, if you want to explore further afield then head into the vibrant and busy town of Salcombe – a popular holiday destination with unique Devon charm, surrounded by picturesque beaches. You can even get the South Sands ferry that runs from Salcombe to the picturesque beach of South Sands; or try your hand at one of the water sports available and then enjoy a Salcombe Dairy Ice Cream. Also close by is the delightful market town of Kingsbridge located within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here, the streets are lined with shops, galleries, cafés and restaurants and the town hosts a popular Farmers Market, which is held on the quay every Saturday. Then there’s the scenic river location of Dartmouth. With winding streets and a strong maritime heritage, Dartmouth has a wealth of attractions to offer, from a 14th century castle to private charters on 43ft luxury yachts! The surrounding area is filled with attractions and fun things to do, and the best part is that a stay in your luxury lodge will be considerably cheaper than choosing to stay in the centre of Salcombe – and it’s also an extremely peaceful location.
A holiday here really is the perfect escape from the stresses and demands of daily life, allowing you to sit back, relax and enjoy your holiday in the utmost comfort. The luxury lodges are simply divine and the enviable position atop the cliffs provides stunning coastal and rural views with a wealth of things to do on your doorstep. So, get in touch with the team today and discover the tranquility of Salcombe Retreat for yourself, because trust us – it’s worth it.
